HSC Ukraine appeal

The Hire Supply Company (HSC) is opening the doors of both its warehouses in Nottingham and London to receive donations to support the Ukraine humanitarian relief effort.
Managing director Gary McWilliam says that, like so many people and businesses, the HSC team have been moved by the conflict and is asking customers, suppliers, competitors and anyone else who can help to donate items by dropping them off or sending them to either location.
He says that an official website in Poland is appealing for the following to help support refugees who have fled to the country:
Clothing and blankets including sleeping bags, blankets, duvets, waterproof jackets, hats and gloves, news socks and underwear, as well as hygiene and cleaning products such as soap, shower gel, hygiene products and nappies, toothpaste and toothbrushes, toilet paper and towels.
There is also a need for instant ready meals (dried food) pasta or cereals, canned foods, protein bars, baby milk formula and bottles (new) and baby food, children’s sweets, and disposable kitchen utensils and cutlery.
Also required are emergency items like batteries and power banks, torches, first aid kits, pain killers such as aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen, vitamins and supplements and cough medicine.
Gary highlights the experience of a Ukrainian man called Aleksander whom HSC met at an international dealer meeting and has now gone from selling climate control equipment to being responsible for organising local defence troops.
Aleksander is in need of satellite phones, thermal blankets, tactical first aid kits, occlusive bandages, Halo chest seal duo packs and tourniquets.
