Boels adds defibrillators for fast response

Highlighting the importance of site safety awareness, Boels Rental has added more defibrillators to the equipment range offered through its specialist Survey & Laser locations. 

As well as tools and plant, the company’s £12 million investment in new equipment last year included automated external defibrillators (AEDs) designed to facilitate the rapid treatment of cardiac arrest patients.

Since much construction work takes place in hard to reach areas or on several floors in high-rise building projects, a fast response can be vital.

The AEDs are designed to be simple to use and no training is required as the unit literally talks the user through the necessary actions to take, step-by-step. 

According to the Health and Safety Executive, evidence suggests that where AEDs have been used the outcomes are far more favourable for an individual who suffers from a cardiac arrest than if treatment is delayed until the arrival of the emergency services.
