HSC launches new air purifier range

Happy New Year!

Since its launch in June 2020 the blog has followed the twists and turns in the pandemic and the ways in which the hire industry has responded. It will continue to do so in 2022.

A surge in new infections caused by the Omicron variant has led to concerns that as many as 25% of staff could be off work in the weeks ahead owing to illness or having to self-isolate in the weeks ahead.

While the UK government says that nothing in the latest Covid data suggests new restrictions are needed, secondary school pupils will be required to wear face masks and have regular on-site tests until 26 January, when the Plan B control measures expire and will be reviewed.

And recognising the importance of good ventilation in reducing the risk of transmission indoors, the government says that 7,000 air-cleaning units are being delivered to early years sites, schools and colleges on top of 1,000 already announced and 350,000 CO2 monitors distributed previously, for buildings where opening windows is impracticable.

Perhaps more workplaces will focus on this sort of equipment in the ‘new normal’, which could create short and long-term hire opportunities, and so The Hire Supply Company (UK)’s launch of a new range of air purifiers to deal with Covid-19 could hardly have been timed better.

The portable and compact Heylo HEPA 14 anti-virus air purifiers are designed both industrial and domestic applications inside schools, offices, showrooms, shops, training rooms, fitness centres and other facilities.

Two models are offered. The HL400 and HL800 can cover areas of up to 50m2 and 66m2 respectively and come with an ultra violet disinfection lamp as standard. The air can be filtered up to five times per hour to reduce the risk of airborne pathogens, bacteria, mould, dust particles larger than five micrometres (five thousandths of a millimetre) and organic compounds to help prevent viruses from spreading in the air or on surfaces.

Looking back over the blog, it’s striking to see that one of the earliest posts focused on HSC’s Stay Safe range of cleaning and sanitising products launched in the early days of lockdown.

That story explained how people had to follow new guidance in offices and that workplace regimes would likely change to reduce risks.

Let’s hope that wider restrictions are, indeed, will not be required. However, HSC’s move new range shows how, as always, the hire industry can respond to meet new demands and developments.
