Demonstrating resilience

One of the early posts on the blog last July was about how Makita UK had proactively prepared an on-line marketing campaign to launch its 40V Max range of cordless tools during the first lockdown.

Normally, of course, the unveiling to dealers and users would have been done at face-to-face events, but as the story explained, the company quicky produced videos and electronic presentations as a workable substitute.

Now, however, reflecting the steady lifting of restrictions, the manufacturer has reintroduced its hands-on sessions, with demonstrations available of the 40VMax range, cordless outdoor power equipment and the recently launched 80VMax XGT models.

Makita says that professionals are now able to arrange Covid-secure appointments locally with sales team members, and company believes this will be valued by people considering the change from petrol engine machines to cordless equivalents.

Demonstrations will be organised locally with safety protocols in place, with visits made on a mutually convenient date. Each tool will be cleaned before and staff will wear masks and implement social distancing. Bookings can be made on-line at www.makitauk.com.

Marketing manager Kevin Brannigan said: “We are pleased to reignite our hands-on product demonstration service after a year of restrictions imposed by Covid-19. As part of our ongoing commitment to training, they offer the opportunity to stay up to date with the latest product innovations, put our products to the test and discover the possibilities that cordless offers.”
