An Apple for GAP

Hirers are steadily gearing up for a greener future and now GAP’s efforts in this area have been recognised by an international environmental organisation.

The company has won a Scottish Green Apple Award from The Green Organisation, which rewards environmental best practice around the world and is supported by the Royal Environment Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS).

GAP’s entry focused on various low carbon site initiatives, such as its telematics system, GAP Track. The hirer also highlighted a number of environmentally-friendly products that it has helped to develop, including the Ecosmart Zero welfare unit (pictured) made by AJC EasyCabin.

In addition, the company outlined how these measures will help to achieve GAP's net-zero goals and its aim to be carbon neutral by 2040.

As mentioned previously on the blog, Boris Johnson has announced plans for a ‘green industrial revolution’  creating and supporting up to 250,000 jobs and eradicating the UK’s contribution to climate change by 2050.

GAP will discover if they have won a Gold, Silver or Bronze award at a prize giving ceremony due to be held on 24 May at Cornhill Castle in Biggar, although this might have to be rescheduled owing to Covid restrictions.
