Speedy set for lift-off
26 February 2021
Yet more positive news about hirers expanding in 2021 comes from Speedy, which has announced a new specialist hoisting division.
The company says that it has initially invested £1.5m in establishing the operation, with its first dedicated depot at a new 52,000 sq ft hub in Birmingham.
According to Speedy, this will offer the UK’s largest range of GEDA hoisting equipment to hire on a nationwide basis, with load ranges of 200kg to 2 tonnes.
The launch in Birmingham will be followed by eight additional specialist hoist centres, which are set to open this year.
Adrian Bolland, head of category at Speedy, will lead the new hoist division. The activity currently has more than 25 trained hoist engineers across its network and is set to recruit more.
Speedy is also rolling out 18 specialist heavy lifting locations, which include those already operating in Rosyth and Ellesmere Port.
