Electric Sunbelt
12 November 2020
Sunbelt Rentals UK has recycled more than 13 tonnes of old workwear and turned it into a source of energy.
Following its re-branding in June, the company wanted to minimise the impact from disposing of years’ worth of clothing and PPE bearing its former A-Plant identity.
Sunbelt partnered with its workwear supplier, Streamline Corporate, and located 20 recycling skips throughout the UK to collect the old items.
The resultant 13,400kg of material was sent for processing to create electricity, estimated as being sufficient to power 128 homes for one day.
Continuing the green theme, the business also operates a number of electric vehicles (pictured) in its delivery fleet.
