Digital Hillhead added

Hillhead is adapting to the challenges imposed by the pandemic. The popular show for the quarrying and construction industries is adding an online conference and exhibition on 9 and 10 March, called Hillhead Digital.

This will act as a prelude to the physical event scheduled to take place on 22–24 June in Buxton, having been postponed from this year.

With an overall title of New Horizons - Building the Recovery, the conference programme will include 40 free seminars and panel sessions under three key industry themes: digitalization, decarbonization and infrastructure.

Visitors will also be able to browse up to 500 virtual exhibition stands which will be available to view in an extended 'shop window' period from 22 February to 30 May.

The organisers say that the platform will accommodate pre-arranged meetings, Zoom sessions, networking events, video demonstrations and digital handouts.

Nothing can replace a real live show where people can meet, get hands-on with equipment and talk eyeball-to-eyeball about business. However, Hillhead Digital seems to be a sensible appetiser to the traditional biennial exhibition, last held back in June 2018 (pictured) in blistering heat and with a record attendance. Let's hope for a repeat this summer.
