AJC helps Ukraine

AJC Power Solutions is sending four of its hybrid Solar Pod units to help with the relief effort in Ukraine. 

There have already been several consignments of diesel generator to the war-torn country following government initiatives and appeals, as previously reported on the blog, and the Solar Pods will be monitored to see how they can reduce fuel wastage and emissions in various locations. 

Telematics data from the machines will be analysed remotely at the manufacturer’s Luton headquarters, explains Adam Davies, Renewables Business Development Manager at AJC Power Solutions, which is a sibling division to the AJC EasyCabin welfare unit business. 

“The relief agency needed something portable, clean and manoeuvrable for use in many different locations such as hospitals, temporary surgeries, food banks and shelters,” Adam told me. “The Solar Pods will be used where there is no mains supply. 

“We can remotely log into the machines and monitor them in terms of load demand and system parameters, and adapt them to each new location.” 

The machines should arrive in Ukraine before the middle of May. They incorporate extendable photovoltaic panels, batteries and a backup diesel generator, delivering 30kW of power.

“The solar panels are the prime source of charge to the battery, minimising generator use and fuel consumption as well as emissions and noise,” said Adam.
