Adlington increases LPG offering

Adlington Group continues to develop its LPG power generation offering with the introduction of a fuel supply installation and management service for the equipment.

As reported previously on the blog the Chorley-based company (formerly called Adlington Welding Services) has Himoinsa LPG-powered generators in its fleet including 40kVA, 70kVA and 110kVA models, with more on order.

MD Gary Clements tells me that the business has successfully trialled an LPG tank that can be provided on site for use with the machines, with Adlington handling top-up deliveries of the fuel.

He says that interest is growing steadily in the generators amongst contractors who appreciate the green benefits of LPG, which gives levels of CO2 and particulate matter that are lower than diesel. Emissions are less than with HVO and the carbon footprint is 20 per cent lower than gas oil.

“I and fellow Director Gareth Macdonald, who is also championing awareness of our LPG machines, are excited about the new tank because it can be moved when partly full. Normally, a tank has to be empty. We have established links with a supplier which has designed and manufactured it for us.

“This means we can offer a full turnkey operation with the LPG generators and the refuelling service,” said Gary.

“As well as the emissions advantages, customers appreciate the operational benefits. Unlike diesel, you can’t spill a bucket of fuel so there is no risk of ground contamination, In addition, the generator can be placed under 100 per cent loading immediately on startup.”
