Hilti hosts UK and Swiss business event

Hilti GB and the Swiss Business Hub UK+Ireland recently hosted a sustainability focused event that brought together customers and sector experts, as well as promoting business links between the UK and Switzerland. 

Called Making Construction Better, the meeting took place at the Swiss Embassy in Marylebone, London, and saw key customers and contacts from UK construction and the hire industry gather to hear talks on sustainability, the future of green building in the UK, and to find out more about the trading links between the UK and Switzerland. 

The initiative follows a similar meeting at Hilti’s Northern European HQ in Manchester last year when Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, spoke on the opportunities available to both Mancunian and Swiss businesses in the construction and built environment sector. 

The London event was opened by His Excellency Markus Leitner, Ambassador of Switzerland to the UK and Rainer Ringgenberg, Head of Region Northern Europe for Hilti. 

Tassilo Deinzer, a member of Hilti’s executive board, spoke about productivity and digitisation in construction, and their direct relationship with sustainability targets. 

Hilti also welcomed Professor Aaron Gillich, Director of the BSRIA LSBU (Building Services Research and Innovation Association and the London South Bank University) Net Zero Building Centre, who spoke about sustainability in the built environment and the steps the UK must now take to hit net zero emissions targets by 2050.
