New from the Hire Supply Company is a battery powered version of the FR 200 floor scarifier made by Von Arx.
As HSC Sales Director Dan Musson tells me, this is the latest development on a unit that has a significant pedigree.
“The original FR 200 went into production more than 80 years ago, at around the same time as the iconic WW2 Willys Jeep. I can’t think of any other machine with such a long history and over the years it has become a hire industry favourite.”
The new battery model complements existing petrol and corded electric variants. Power comes from a Honda GXE.02 unit that is said to give a similar level of performance.
The battery gives a running time of 23 minutes, which is typically sufficient for work over an area of 30 sq m, and recharges in three-quarters of an hour.
The FR 200 is popular for cleaning concrete and asphalt surfaces, removing line markings and coatings, and creating anti-slip surfaces.
