Long-life Lifos

Sustainable energy specialist Lifos reports rapid interest in its recently launched Fort solar PV (photovoltaic) battery storage system. 

The product was displayed at last month’s Executive Hire Show and the company says that visitors appreciated its compact and self-contained qualities. 

Initially available in 12kWh, 23kWh and 35kWh versions, the machine comprises a lithium-ion phosphate battery and 18 solar panels that store neatly inside the unit. These can be deployed quickly and fitted on top of a welfare cabin or set up on the ground to provide 3.4kW of energy. 

The battery then powers site equipment, reducing the need for a diesel generator and cutting fuel costs, making it ideal for us in Low Emission Zones. 

Lifos states that the Fort is designed to be easy to transport, set up and use to make it appeal to the hire industry. 

Battery management software can be used to remotely monitor and control operation of the machine, as well as providing information on performance and cost savings for ESG reporting purposes. 

The Fort comes with a five-year warranty and customers have an option so that, after seven years, critical components can be updated so that the battery operates as new. Lifos says this extends the machine’s overall expected life to 15 years or more.
