Brendon extends its reach

The need to adopt greener construction site practices often leads to operators using existing equipment in new, more efficient ways.

Stuart Haskins, sales manager for UK and Europe with Brendon Powerwashers, tells me that machines from the manufacturer’s 3-phase electric line-up are proving popular for use in tandem with diesel generators.

“Some larger sites are using one generator to power multiple pieces of equipment from the same source as required, rather than having several machines in different places. This reduces overall emissions and cuts down on noise,” he says.

“On a recent project we supplied one of our BBW30KE-AS bowser washers (pictured) which can be towed into place close to the generator for connection and a long hose was then run off the machine to deliver the water where needed. A 50m hose gives a considerable radius to work within and another advantage of this setup is that the generator can provide continuous running.”

Stuart adds that this is also proving popular for work in tunnels and interior locations where the generator can be positioned in a safe spot away from the operator.
