Electric Sany newcomer

Sany previewed a new 1.8-tonne class electric mini excavator at the recent Bauma exhibition in Munich.
The SY19E model mini excavator has a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that does not contain cobalt to enhance its green credentials. The machine has a quoted noise level of 66 dB(A).
The motor delivers a peak output of 15kW and various charging options are available including a fast charge of 1.5 hours. The battery is said to give up to six hours’ operation.
Other new machines displayed included the STH1440 and STH1840 telehandlers which offer a 4-tonne capacity and have Stage V engines. The cabs include a rear-view camera.
The new machines are due to be launched in the UK in 2023 and will carry a five-year warranty.
