Instagrid shows battery pack concept

Instagrid, which is developing a range of portable battery power packs, has previewed its new ZERO 387 model.

The concept unit, which was displayed at the recent Bauma exhibition in Munich, offers AC and DC outputs, has a prime power rating of 16kVA with output voltages of 230V and 400V, and a quoted 387kWh power capacity.

The manufacturer says the product can be used for high-demand applications including cranes, pumps and other heavy machinery,  in markets such as construction, events, film production, utilities and telecoms.

It can also support both 400V AC charging for plant machinery or ‘ultrafast’ DC car and electric vehicle charging.

Instagrid states that the LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery can tolerate at least ten years of daily cycling service, and the panels used for the machine’s housing are designed so they can be replaced quickly in the event of damage.

The company also offers the compact ONE Max battery pack which is claimed to offer the same performance as plugging into a 230V grid supply. It is designed for tasks like welding, diamond drilling, concrete cutting and other demanding applications, and has already been added to a national UK hirer's fleet.
