Belle’s rising stars

One of the messages frequently emphasised on the Site-Eco blog is that many different fuels and energy sources will be needed on the road to net zero in order to meet individual site requirements.

This is confirmed by Altrad Belle. Although the company offers a range of battery powered compaction plates that are growing in popularity, demand is also increasing for the plug-in electric variants in its line-up.

As managing director Ray Neilson told me recently, models like the electric PCLX 12/40E (pictured) cost little more than the petrol equivalent and helps users meet their sustainability obligations.

“It is one of our rising star products,” he said. “It can be used anywhere there is a main supply or another electricity source like a battery pack and is ideal for work in areas like patios or indoor locations such as basements and factories.

“There is no engine or carburettor to maintain, no risk of fuel and oil spillages or contamination, is easier for the domestic user to operate and emits less noise. It ticks all the green boxes.”

The PCLX 12/40E creates a centrifugal force of 12kn and is available in 100V and 230V versions. Altrad Belle’s range also includes the PCLX 16/45E which delivers 16kN and is available in 110V.
