Speedy drives down emissions
16 August 2022
Speedy Hire’s Manchester Service Centre recently took delivery of a new 7.5-tonne electric truck into its vehicle fleet.
The organisation is implementing measures to reduce its carbon footprint throughout the business based on recognised science-based targets (SBT) in line with the Paris Agreement to limit climate warming by 1.5C by 2050.
Speedy’s programme will be verified by the Science Based Targets Initiative and will be published over the coming year. Its aim is to become net carbon zero before 2050.
The company says that investing in equipment like the electric truck will help future-proof its vehicle fleet as well as reducing emissions.
