Vaughan Gething MS, the Welsh Minister for the Economy, visited the FuelActive company to see first-hand how its clean fuel delivery system can reduce fuel consumption and cutting exhaust emissions in plant and machinery. 

The Cardiff-based business has received extensive support from the Welsh Government, including help from an Innovation Specialist who has provided guidance on intellectual property, support for product design and secured access to R&D funding from both the Welsh and UK governments. 

FuelActive’s patented unit replaces a standard fuel pick-up pipe with a floating version, to ensure that only the cleanest fuel in the tank is used by an engine’s injection system. Any water and sediment remains at the bottom. 

Burning uncontaminated fuel available ensures the engine operates closest to the manufacturer’s design specification and is more reliable, with improved fuel consumption and reduced emissions. On average, fuel savings of up to 5 per cent are possible, says FuelActive.

It was great to see the positive outcomes they’ve been able to deliver already in terms of creating jobs through the development and export of a truly innovative made-in-Wales technology.
