Shindaiwa’s General success

General Welding Supplies (NW) Ltd (GWS) has just added no fewer than ten new Shindaiwa diesel welder generators to its fleet.

The new Eco300 machines join others in the specialist hirer’s line-up, which also includes Shindaiwa Eco165 petrol and Eco200 diesel models.

These latest road-tow Eco300 units have been purchased for a long-term project being undertaken by a site contractor working on the refurbishment of a large food production plant.

Based in Widnes and established in 1982, GWS specialises in the hire and sales of welding equipment and consumables, serving customers across markets including petrochemical, oil and gas, nuclear, power generation, mechanical and electrical works and on-site contractors

Ben Johnson, Hire Manager for GWS said: “We have again selected Shindaiwa Eco300 machines due to their excellent performance, reliability and 3-year warranty. At GWS we are known for our specialist knowledge and the large variety of welding equipment we have available on our hire fleet.

“The Shindaiwa machines are ideal for our customers wanting to weld in locations where no mains power is available and they also work seamlessly with our existing Kemppi inverter machines used for on site TIG and MIG welding.”

The Eco300 is a very popular machine in Shindaiwa’s portfolio. It can provide 50A to 300A of DC welding current and offers simultaneous use of welding and 110V/415V AC auxiliary power. The 3kVA 110V supply can power larger power tools such as 9in grinders and provides 8kVA of 3-phase power, giving operational flexibility from both a user and a hirer’s perspective.

Tom Page, Shindaiwa’s Sales Director, commented: “We are delighted to continue supporting GWS with their latest order of Shindaiwa machines. The order highlights the versatility of the Eco300 with its capability to conduct MMA welding directly from the set and, utilising the 3-phase outlet, to power ancillary equipment such as MIG and TIG welders.

“After conducting extensive trials at GWS we are confident Shindaiwa products are not only the most reliable in the industry but also highly capable of powering the latest technology inverter based power sources.”

Shindaiwa will be exhibiting at the ScotPlant exhibition at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on 26 and 27 April, stand 4, Tenth Avenue.
