New Makita hammer drill

New from Makita is the HR010GZ 40VMax XGT SDS-Plus cordless rotary hammer drill designed for heavy-load overhead and horizontal drilling applications.

Weighing in at just 2.8kg, the tool has a drilling capacity of 20mm in concrete, 13mm in steel and 26mm in wood, with rotation only, rotary hammer and hammer only modes and up to 2.1 joules of impact energy.

The drill has Makita’s AVT Anti-Vibration Technology system and an anti-vibration side grip providing additional comfort for the user while operating the tool over extended periods.

The HR010GZ also incorporates Makita’s Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) technology, which uses Bluetooth for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the tool and a compatible dust extractor, such as the DX16 unit.

The tool is also available complete with two batteries and a charger in a package that includes the DX16.

Kevin Brannigan, Marketing Manager at Makita UK, said: “We continue to design all our products with the professional end user in mind. Despite its lightweight and compact design, this tool really packs a punch to perform robustly across a variety of applications and is an ideal companion for those working with concrete, steel and wood.”
