Hands-on with Takeuchi

Visitors to the Takeuchi stand at Plantworx next month will be able to get hands-on with the new fully electric TB20e mini excavator, the first model from the manufacturer to feature electro-hydraulic controls.

The 1930kg unit, shown above, has all-steel construction, a heavy-duty boom and a retractable undercarriage, and offers performance matching its diesel equivalent. Fully charged, the 24.7kWh lithium-ion battery provides up to eight hours of operating time at 65 per cent load.

The TB20e has an on-board charger with the option of charging while static or during machine operation. An additional off-board fast charger is available, reducing charge time to two hours.

The machine is suitable ideal for applications in noise sensitive areas such as schools or hospitals, operating at 80dB and 15 per cent quieter than a diesel excavator, says the company.

Also on display at Plantworx will be excavators from the 3-Series, including the latest TB350R short tail 5-tonne model, pictured below, which will be available to test-drive in the Takeuchi Dig Zone, along with the TB335R and TB370. The TB395W wheeled excavator will also be shown.

Machine operators can come along to test the red and grey Takeuchi excavators for themselves, provided they have valid operating cards.

Plantworx will take place at the East of England Arena on 13 to 15 June.
