MHM takes the stage

The event industry was one of the hardest-hit sectors during the pandemic and so it’s been particularly pleasing to follow its steady recovery as people have got back to work and hired in the equipment they need.

The MHM Group reports that it is sending eco-friendly lighting towers across the UK to illuminate major festivals and sporting events this summer.

Having lit up The Mall in London for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, the company has been in partnership with event hire specialist Illumin8 Lights to supply 12 low-emission lighting towers for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

The partnership will see a further 40 lighting sets being sent to the Boardmasters Festival which opens today and expects to attract up to 150,000 surfing enthusiasts to Newquay. Other festival clients include Boomtown near Winchester, again opening today, and Creamfields in Daresbury later this month.

Brad Ireland, group sales director at MHM, says that the volume of business that the company is experiencing means that it has recorded 20 per cent revenue growth during the first half of 2022 and is on track to achieve 40 per cent growth by the end of the year.

“We are thrilled to have our products featured at these large-scale events. We aim to help businesses and events companies all over the UK achieve sustainable goals including zero-emission, lower running costs and reduced noise – and we hope that this project will begin a new wave of events taking on greener and more efficient practices," he said.

Neil Fenwick, managing director of Illumin8 commented: “Many of the companies we work with have made commitments to actively reduce their environmental impacts and Illumin8 will continue to advise businesses on greener alternatives.

“As ever we have had first class service from MHM in this. They are always keen to help our clients achieve their sustainable goals.”
