Hydrogen powered Kennards

Kennards Hire of Australia has purchased two new EODev GEH2 electro-hydrogen generators from Blue Diamond Machinery. The machines are claimed to provide 80kW of zero-emission electricity.

In a blog post on the company’s website, Kennards CEO Bill Whitehouse said: “With the increased focus on delivering sustainable options for the construction industry, the nature of hire is already considered a favourable decision for customers who want to ensure their projects are as green as possible.

“Through Kennards Hire, equipment rental products such as the GEH2 hydrogen power generator are now becoming a more viable sustainable solutions option.”

Blue Diamond offers a range of off-grid clean power solutions including hydrogen power generators, energy storage systems, solar lighting towers, and electric all-terrain vehicles, and is the sole national distributor of the GEH2, manufactured by EODev which is based in France.

The unit is powered by a Toyota fuel cell and was designed to suit a wide range of market applications including mining, construction, events, telecoms, charging electric vehicles or for back-up power.

Machines can be stacked together, used in tandem with diesel generators and can connect to the grid.

Kennards Hire has nearly 200 depots throughout Australia and New Zealand.
