Green Groundhog success

Genquip Groundhog has won an International CSR Excellence Award in an initiative that recognises organisations developing products and services promoting social responsibility.

As part of its entry, the company put forward its energy saving Unisex SolarLoo, which is designed for use on construction sites.

The unit has a female area with a low flush eco-toilet and a 400-litre waste tank. The male compartment has a similar toilet and two 1200mm waterless urinals. A stainless steel wash basin is also provided. 

Warm water is supplied by an on-board heating system that is designed to protect the engine and to save fuel. 

The Unisex SolarLoo is powered by battery and solar energy, giving very low emissions. It can also run on HVO fuel.

The CSR Excellence Awards are run by The Green Organisation, an international, environment group that promotes social responsibility and best practice around the world. Genquip Groundhog will receive their award at a ceremony in London on 30 May.
