Trime’s Eco options
16 March 2022
Trime UK now offers a broad range of environmentally friendly lighting tower variants, enabling hirers and users to select the option that best meets their sustainability requirements and constraints.
For example, the conventional X-Eco diesel lighting tower consumes 0.54 litres of diesel per hour, while the X-Hybrid with a lead acid backup battery reduced this to 0.23 litres. The X-Eco Hybrid model, which has a lithium battery, decreases consumption to just 0.12 litres per hour, with a 10.5 hour running time.
“We are getting a lot of interest in the X-Eco Hybrid from hirers who are looking at ways in which their customers can cut their fuel costs when the red diesel tax rebate ends for construction users on 1 April,” managing director Paul Hay tells me.
“Lighting towers used to be almost commodity items and hirers’ customers would just expect to receive whatever diesel machine was available, but now they are choosing what they need to maintain their green credentials.”
Also available is the X-Solar Hybrid that has a battery pack topped up by integral solar panels. It can give a running time of 3,000 hours, effectively meaning that it can give a typical year’s operation before re-charging is required.
