Green lights show benefits
9 March 2022
Green Site Solutions, the site lighting division of rail contractor ISS Labour, has expanded its fleet of battery powered lighting towers with the addition of 20 X-Eco Hybrid Lithium sets, which have been quickly put to work at projects throughout the UK.
Gary Hendry, Green Site Solutions’ general manager said that the purchasing decision was made primarily due to the extended battery time that the lithium battery on the machine offered when compared with a gel battery.
“Many, if not most of our clients, are now moving over to more sustainable products, therefore we have to keep up with their demands. In the main we have had a positive reaction from our clients."
He added that users particularly appreciate the silent running of the unit.
The machine is powered by the battery in tandem with a small fuel-efficient diesel engine. It can be fully recharged in less than two hours.
Trime says that for 80% of operation, the unit is typically powered solely by the battery, emitting no noise and zero carbon emissions, bringing cost savings and environmental benefits.
