Carbon neutral Armorgard

Armorgard, whose corporate colour is primarily red, has gone green by embracing the drive towards sustainability and becoming a certified carbon neutral business.

The company, which specialises in site storage products, teamed up with the Climate Partners consultancy that advises organisations on becoming carbon neutral.

Armorgard is supporting a hydroelectric power project at Virunga, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The plant generates clean electricity for households and small business, giving four million inhabitants access to electricity for the first time.

Street lighting provides more safety after dusk and the generated electricity provides local residents with an alternative to burning fossil fuels and charcoal.

Armorgard, which celebrated its green achievement on its stand at the recent Executive Hire Show (below), also believes that supporting the project stimulates economic development and contributes to more stability and peace in the region.
