Eco routes with MCS

It’s important to keep in mind that hirers can lower their own carbon footprint and that of their customers by not only changing or upgrading equipment in their fleets, but also through improving many other aspects of their operations.

MCS says that hire companies can optimise driver routes and schedules on the go to help reduce CO2 emissions, using the latest version of its Transport Mobile app.

Drivers' locations can also be viewed on a map via telematics data so that ad hoc jobs can be allocated, with the route being updated instantly on the driver’s mobile app.

In addition, MCS’ Online Shop service can now be used on the web, enabling users to make hire bookings online, view their own pricing and check equipment availability from a mobile device.

Sales director Nick Thomson says: “Mobile and paperless are two terms that often go hand in hand, and as a business, we’ve got more mobile apps and web solutions than ever. MCS software can now be used on mobiles by hire teams throughout a business including sales, warehouse staff, drivers and mobile engineers, operators using digital time sheets, and by the management teams to get an overview of the entire business.

“Mobile is now successfully removing paper from the rental operation and helping the industry become a lot more sustainable,” he adds.

MCS will promote its latest developments at the Executive Hire Show next month.
