Trime strikes Gold
26 November 2021
Trime (UK) has been presented with a prestigious award recognising the eco-friendly qualities of its X-Solar Hybrid lighting set.
The product won the Gold Award in The Green Apple Environment Awards for 2020 organised by The Green Organisation, an international body promoting innovation and best practice.
The ceremony had to be delayed owing to Covid-19, but Trime CEO Ray Caulfield, pictured left, and MD Paul Hay have now finally received the trophy at a ceremony held at The Royal Horseguards Hotel in London.
“Our aim with this project was to develop a lighting tower that was powered from a combination of solar and battery power, with just a small fuel-efficient diesel engine as back-up,” said Paul.
“The X-Solar Hybrid has rapidly become a popular product with rental and construction organisations. To have its environmental qualities formally recognised is indeed an honour.”
The LED lighting tower is powered by a combination of solar energy and battery power, backed up by an engine driven charging system. Trime says that for 95% of its operation, the machine emits zero noise and cuts emissions by 97%.
Earlier this year, Trime announced its intention to to phase out petrol and diesel versions of its site lighting, power generation and associated equipment completely by 2025, and replace them with emission-free models.
