Dissolve dust hazards
18 November 2021
While much of the environmental debate revolves around engine emissions, there are many other important angles to consider. Amongst these is the reduction of dust hazards on work sites.
Thermac Hire, the specialist supplier of safety equipment to customers such as demolition contractors and asbestos removal firms, tells me that it offers a range of liquid-based products that can be used to remove certain surface materials without creating airborne particles.
These include CapSure Dissolve and TriMax which are biodegradable and, because their application does not require the use of heavy machinery, they reduce HAV and noise.
CapSure Dissolve can remove bitumen adhesive and coatings on flooring or contaminated plant and equipment.
TriMax is designed for use on ceiling and wall coatings containing asbestos. By using specialised foam converting equipment, the product is applied directly to the substrate. Thermac says it also acts as an asbestos fibre suppressant and can be used for general dust suppression during demolition and site clearance.
Thermac has its headquarters in Leeds and has two other depots in Glasgow and Milton Keynes.
