Husqvarna’s quick PACE

Amongst products highlighted on the Husqvarna UK stand at the recent Saltex grounds care and landscaping equipment show at the NEC was the new K1 PACE cordless disc cutter designed for heavier-duty applications. 

Power comes from a 94V battery system and the tool accepts 12in and 14in (300mm and 350mm) diameter blades. 

While it can be used with standard blades, Husqvarna has developed a range with thinner segments and a specially designed core for less cutting resistance and optimum battery life. 

The product is scheduled for official launch early next year. Area sales manager Stuart Darby tells me that interest is already strong amongst tool hirers and contractors looking to meet carbon emissions targets. It also has low levels of HAV and noise. 

The K1 is from a forthcoming series of PACE (standing for power, agility, cordless, electric) products benefiting from the heavy-duty capability of the 94V system.
