Stuart Power’s new Hybrid
26 October 2021
Stuart Power has developed a containerised hybrid generator with an integral battery pack for eco-friendly operation.
The Hybrid Power Safe has a 65kVA generator with a 600-litre fuel tank and a 30kVA capacity battery offering 60kWhrs of stored energy, the company says.
Various socket configurations are offered together with timers for automatically starting and stopping the machine. Operation can also be managed remotely via GPS.
A version with a Stage IIIa engine was displayed on Stuart Power’s stand at the Showman’s Show recently, and managing director Russell Tregent tells me there are plans for a Stage V version with an AdBlue tank.
He also says that during a trial with the machine on an HS2 related project, the Hybrid Power Safe gave a 67% reduction in generator running time, and also a 67% decrease in fuel consumption. Another plus point is that in battery mode the machine is silent.
