Crushing success for BAV

With many materials in short supply because of high demand and supply chain disruptions, construction sites are looking at ways of recycling and re-using more materials to provide a solution, as well as enhancing their green credentials.

“There’s a lot more interest in turning rubble on a site into a re-useable aggregate,” says Marcus Clay who is a director of BAV Crushers – a sister business to the Rugeley-based excavator attachment manufacturer, Digbits.

“It also avoids the cost and general hassle of waiting for skips to be delivered or getting a tipper lorry. And because smaller excavators can reach and remove material in areas that are inaccessible to bigger plant and vehicles, it’s practical and convenient.”

BAV Crushers designs and makes a range of concrete, brick and rubble crushers and screening attachments for excavators undertaking recycling and demolition applications.

The company has supplied equipment to contractors working on HS2 projects.

Flying the flag for the UK, the business has built up strong export markets and recently appointed a distributor in Osaka, Japan. Marcus tells me that almost immediately, the first demonstration (pictured) of a BAV-CB8 crusher bucket led to a sale there.
