Green-fingered Euro Towers
28 September 2021
Euro Towers is certainly going green. The aluminium access equipment manufacturer has introduced several environmentally friendly initiatives in and around its Northampton headquarters.
The company has established wild flower displays at its main building and is also producing its own vegetables.
“We’re growing marrows, peas, cucumbers, broad beans, herbs like mint and many other things,” managing director Roger Verallo tells me.
“A factory over the road gave us some large old tyres and we are using them as planters for the flowers,” he says, adding that many of the ideas have been introduced by his wife, Sue.
Roger adds that Euro Towers, which celebrates its 30th anniversary next month, has also successfully installed energy saving measures at its facilitiies.
“Five years ago we fitted solar panels on the roof of our main building and we are now well past the payback period with them. Our electricity bill really has reduced dramatically,” he says.
So going green doesn’t just help the environment: it can cut your costs, too.
