Speedy delivers

What’s red, green, will travel thousands of miles and is electrically powered?
Spotted at Vertikal Days this week on the plant body manufacturer Sterling GP’s stand was a 27-tonne Electra eStar rear-steer truck with a beavertail body, in Speedy’s distinctive livery.
Based on a 6x2 RS chassis, the vehicle has been added to Speedy’s Powered Access delivery fleet for zero-emission deliveries of machinery.
The vehicle comes with 225kWh batteries and is equipped with onboard 22kWh and 44kWh chargers. It has a stated range of up to 155 miles and charges from 0-100% in under six hours at 40kWh.
As reported on the blog earlier, Speedy is also now providing eco-friendly hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as standard with its powered access machinery as part of its drive towards net zero.
