Himoinsa opens the Box

It’s often been mentioned on the blog that products running on diesel or equivalent fuels will remain in demand for some time given the scale of the transition to alternatives and the development of new technology.

Himoinsa has launched the H-Box+,  a static low-emission Stage V diesel lighting tower. Power comes from a new 2-cylinder Yanmar engine that is lighter than a 3-cylinder equivalent and can run on HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil).

The machine has a stated fuel consumption of 0.55 litres per hour and a noise level of 55dB(A). Service intervals are every 600 hours.

“The H-Box+ is very compact compared against wheeled machines and you can fit more on a delivery truck,” says Clive Dix, managing director of Himoinsa UK. “This format is very popular in mainland Europe and it helps businesses reduce transport costs, which also improves their carbon footprint. In addition, it is more secure.”

The machine has four 350W LED lamps, runs for up to 400 hours on a tank of fuel and can be controlled via a mobile phone app.

• Himoinsa UK is also now offering Stage V compliant generators with self-cleaning long-life diesel particulate filters (DPF) that do away with the need for treatments like AdBlue. Models are available up to 45kVA with Yanmar engines and up to 550kVA with Iveco or Scania power units.
