GAP’s Cesar success

As part of its drive to become net-zero by 2040, GAP is successfully fitting Cesar ECV identification to its ride-on plant. 

The ECV (Emissions Compliance Verification) scheme, which the hirer has been using since last October, makes it easier to identify a machine’s emission Stage certification.

Tamper evident colour-coded labels provide a quick reference point, with a QR code that can be scanned to bring up a database of detailed machine information. This allows site managers to ensure they are meeting the strict, new emission standards in areas like Low Emission Zones.

GAP says that site personnel often rely on hire companies to provide information on a machine before work commences. The ECV marking subsequently makes it easier to keep track throughout a project. 

The ECV scheme, an addition to the Cesar theft-deterrent initiative, was developed for the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and uses technology provided by Datatag ID.
