More from Milwaukee

Amongst several manufacturers promoting cordless equipment at the Rail Live exhibition in Warwickshire last week was Milwaukee.

Its MX Fuel range is claimed to offer the power of corded and petrol powered light tools and the battery platform can power equipment such as a breaker, a 25kg demolition hammer, a 350mm/14in cut-off saw, a diamond core drill and a range of portable lighting products.

As reported previously, Speedy has invested in 300 MX Fuel Tower lights for its fleet following successful trials with national customers including Balfour Beatty.

The lights can be used indoors and outdoors and provide a brightness level of up to 27,000 lumens. They offer a maximum height of 3.1m and can be controlled by an app for adjusting brightness and to monitor battery charge levels.

Following tests, Speedy says that construction businesses will typically save £37,000 annually on fuel and repair costs, and up to 62 tonnes of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent - a standard unit for measuring total carbon footprints) for every 20 standard diesel models they replace with battery powered units.
