Himoinsa’s record results

Himoinsa has reported record 2022 results with a turnover of 350 million euros (£308 million) and says that it has plans for considerable growth this year.

The Spanish-based power generation company now expects sales to grow to 400 million euros (£352 million) in 2023. The European market represented 43 per cent of turnover last year.

In 2022, Himoinsa implemented significant R&D projects, increasing its investment by 20 per cent compared with the previous year. These initiatives have included new developments in battery power generation and storage systems, hybrid lighting towers, gas-powered generation systems and electronic technology.

At the end of last year, the company presented its electrification strategy and plans for emissions reduction to enable users to reduce their carbon footprint.

Himoinsa, which has been part of the Yanmar group since 2015, and Francisco Gracia, Himoinsa’s president and CEO, says the company is working closely with Yanmar's R&D departments on developing new equipment.

“Our integration into Yanmar Energy System (YES) clearly shows how firmly we are committed to continuing to provide state-of-the-art solutions in the power generation sector, in line with the philosophy behind the Yanmar Green Challenge 2050,” he said.

Himoinsa is also implementing measures to increase energy efficiency at its facilities. Last year it installed photovoltaic plants on the roofs of its factories in Spain, which have reduced the company's emissions by more than 22.25 per cent.

The business is preparing to commission a new production centre in Spain for the manufacture of battery-powered energy storage and distribution systems. It is also consolidating its production centres by the product categories of generator sets, lighting towers and battery systems, streamlining processes at each one. A new production centre for the manufacture of generator sets up to 3500kVA is due to open in the last quarter of this year.

In 2022, Himoinsa acquired 75 per cent of the share capital of Powersil, a Portuguese company whose activities include the design and manufacture of electrical panels and automation systems for generators. Other corporate acquisition processes are due to be completed during 2023.
