Keep Track with Hilti
14 February 2023
At last week’s Executive Hire Show, Hilti promoted how its digital ON!Track system can be used to monitor the location and status of items in a hire fleet from any manufacturer, not just its own products.
A small tag is attached to the body of the equipment using a special adhesive pad that is designed to create a bond as strong as the surface material it is attached to.
Connecting to a hub, the tag constantly monitors the item’s location and depot managers can check the information via ON!Track software or by using an app. Equipment out on a site also sends data to the service so that it can be tracked and traced in a similar way.
Reports can be generated quickly to show clients exactly what equipment they currently have on hire. The system also lists items that have not been moved from their position for a length of time, suggesting they are slow-moving, under-promoted or perhaps surplus to requirements.
In addition, ON!Track provides other data such as a tool’s service status and Hilti says that the system can deliver sustainability benefits through fleet efficiencies.
