Dromad’s green machines

Dromad Hire has recently placed orders for more than 20 new powered access machines, of which 60 per cent are green electric or hybrid versions. 

The award winning company, which is based in Dundalk, has already invested almost €3 million (£2.6 million) on new equipment to date in 2022.

These latest orders comprise machines from leading manufacturers including Skyjack, Niftylift, Snorkel and Hinowa. There are several brand new additions to the already extensive fleet offering, and are predominantly all lithium battery-powered, focusing on zero emissions and zero noise pollution.

Ronan Cotter, general manager of Dromad Hire commented: “This latest investment will enable us to expand the capability of our offering. Not only are these all electric machines more efficient, but they are also environmentally friendly. 

“Some key benefits of electric or hybrid machines include zero emissions, zero noise and they are ideal for indoor use or in noise sensitive environments. We will continue to invest in battery and electric technology across our core divisions as we play our role in moving the industry towards a greener environment.”

One of the latest additions is the all-electric Snorkel SL30RTE Speed Level (pictured above). The lithium battery-powered machine is designed to work on all terrains and on sloping or uneven ground. It can self-level automatically on gradients of up to 50 per cent with no need for stabilisers, and the 4-wheel drive unit can be driven at full height.

The new machines will go directly into Dromad's hire fleet, alongside its current range of electric lifts.
