PASMA initiatives for Hirer members

PASMA plans to develop a new range of services to benefit its Hirer/Dealer category members.

Speaking at the association’s Conference in Derby last week, Hirer/Dealer committee chairman Martin Doran, who is general manager of Leigh-based Astley Hire, said that members’ opinions had been sought on three key areas: net zero, marketing and training and auditing.

Regarding net zero, many companies had said that they did not know where to start in assessing their carbon reduction goals and that it was difficult to understand the jargon and technical terms that were frequently encountered.

PASMA intends to help identify carbon reduction initiatives and inform members on changes they can make in their businesses, having established their current situation.

On marketing, Martin said that, as hirers and equipment dealers are in the middle between manufacturers and end users, they could benefit from materials informing customers about products and their selection and usage, particularly domestic and infrequent users.

PASMA Hirer/Dealer membership is open to companies that have third party certification to the EN1004 mobile access tower standard from a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) or EA (European Co-operation for Accreditation) approved body.
