“No downturn as yet” says Tag Tool Hire

Busy independent Tag Tool Hire has experienced no slowdown in business activity despite general economic uncertainty currently being voiced in some quarters. According to director Alex Brownridge, the company is firmly focused on the here and now serving a loyal customer base.

“We’ve not seen any downturn as yet. Demand remains strong from DIY customers and the small to medium contractors who are the mainstay of our business. There is still a lot of work going on.

“We have upgraded our website to make it easier for people to make enquiries and place orders online, which has proved successful.

“Obviously, inflation is an issue and it’s a case of seeing how much it will squeeze people’s spending. It’s an unknown quantity and you can only deal with things as they actually are. Many people have decided not to move house and are having extensions built because it is more cost-effective.

“And the equipment we are supplying reflects that. There is steady demand for cut-off saws, mixers and other general items, and for lifting equipment like Genie hoists, beam lifters, Acrow props and Prop-Pal needles as more people want open-plan living spaces built,” says Alex.

Recent additions to the Tag equipment line-up include a new Kubota 1.5-tonne mini excavator joining several others in the fleet, two Forst wood chippers from Redwood Global to replace older models, and two Snorkel 3219E compact self-propelled scissor lifts (below).

Tag will also be adding a second Plant ‘N’ Go vehicle from AKFS Special Vehicles for its delivery fleet. It has a low-level loading platform to facilitate the movement of small plant and does away with the need to two machinery on a trailer.
