GAP pumps up the volume

GAP Hire Solutions is celebrating. The business will soon mark the first anniversary of its Pump Services division and it is also opening two new depots in Warrington and Dundee.

An investment of more than £20m has been made in the group’s eleventh specialist division over the past 12 months, including more than 500 pumps with Stage V engines, and some 150,000 metres of hose.

Pump Services currently operates from eight depots nationwide, including the new Warrington and Dundee locations, with plans for further expansion.

The operation focuses on special fluid movement, from basic de-watering to dedicated system design. Under its GAP Environmental product group ranges, the company offers chemical dosing plants, lamella clarifiers (which remove particles from fluids), pH balancing systems and recycling concrete wash systems.

Interestingly, all GAP’s pumps are colour coordinated for different uses such as draining, sewage and hydraulics, to prevent cross-contamination.

The equipment has been sourced from suppliers including Atlas Copco, DXB Pump & Power, and Active Engineering. All pumps are available in a range of sizes.

Richard Broughton, GAP’s head of pump services commented: “As we fast approach the one-year anniversary of the division, we have made large strides forward in offering our customers the latest pump and treatment technology, which is coupled with market leading fuel efficiency.

“Some of these requirements have led to extensive research and development to provide unique product offerings, including our fuel safes, lightweight rapid response pumps and modular pedestrian bridges which have all been designed using market feedback analysis from customers.

“We continue to invest in product lines to reduce our customers’ carbon emissions and energy requirements to help protect the environment,” he added.
