Astley Hire cleans up

Astley Hire reports that its specialist cleaning equipment hire division goes from strength to strength. 

The operation is one of seven specialist areas that the Leigh-based business serves, the others being access, cooling, heating, maintenance, training and scaffolding. 

General manager Martin Doran believes that the current economic climate and supply chain issues are amongst the factors driving demand. 

“Operators who would normally own equipment are finding that if a machine breaks down, it can take a long time to obtain parts and so it is out of action for some time. 

“Hiring gives them the maximum uptime with no headaches because we can offer them full support. If a machine breaks down, we can repair it quickly or swap it for another.” 

Martin says that such considerations are attracting new hire customers and wonders if they might decide not to go back to ownership in the future. 

Astley Hire’s cleaning equipment portfolio includes ride-on and walk-behind scrubber dryers and sweepers, Atex grade vacuums, vacuum cleaners, chewing gum removers, steam cleaners and floor burnishers. 

“We can also offer the customer the best solution because we deal with so many suppliers of equipment, consumables and attachments. 

“Some machines, like ride-on scrubbers, can be fitted with Trackunit telematics and PIN code user access. This allows customers to see who operated the unit and where it was used in the event of damage, and we can track its whereabouts.”

The company recently announced itself as a carbon neutral business under the PAS 2060 standard, as reported previously on the blog.
