Chippindale adds Isuzus

Chippindale Plant has been refreshing its transport fleet recently. The company recently added two replacement Isuzu Grafter N35.125 dropsides, bringing to four the total of delivery trucks it has taken from the manufacturer over the past 12 months.

The Leeds-based equipment hirer and dealership now has 13 Isuzus in its 60-strong commercial vehicle fleet, consisting of ten Grafter 3.5-tonne trucks and three 7.5-tonne rigids. Chippindale took its first 7.5-tonne model back in 2010, which is still in daily operation.

“We have found that the Isuzu trucks are strong and dependable working vehicles,” said Tony Atack, Chippindale Plant’s operations director. “Over the 12 years we have had them in our fleet they have proven to be both robust and reliable, certainly built to work in a tough environment and providing us with excellent payload and low running costs as well as the capacity for towing plant to and from our customers.”

Chippindale Plant operates from its head office in Leeds and a further eight strategically placed depots in Catterick, Huddersfield, Keighley, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, and York. The business was recently acquired by AER Rents.
