Phoenix flies with Shindaiwa

Phoenix Hire and Sales has added its first Shindaiwa machines to its fleet in the form of a number of Eco 165-2 petrol welder generators.

Phoenix has depots in Bridgend, Cardiff, Cwmbran, Pontypridd and Swansea, a dedicated sales operation in Newport plus a survey and training depot in Treforest.

“The customer particularly wanted the Shindaiwa machine and we are always keen to get what the client needs,” Phoenix chairman Gary Derraven tells me.

“They are a national engineering contractor working at refineries in our region. They liked the fact that the Eco 165-2 offers 110V AC auxiliary power simultaneously with welding capability of 40A to 165A of DC welding current.

“It’s also a very compact unit and very robust with a lightweight polycarbonate canopy.”

Phoenix managing director Paul Lewis adds that Phoenix has achieved another record year in hire and that the sales side, headed up by Jason Derraven, who is sales director, has also had an excellent 2021.

Andy Munford, managing director of Shindaiwa Ltd, says: “Shindaiwa continues to report record sales after the introduction of Stage V engines throughout our product range earlier in 2021.

"We continue to invest in the latest technology to ensure our products meet customers’ demands and requirements. 2022 will see the introduction of several new exciting models to the range.”
