MCS saves time

Given the relentless pace at which hirers and construction professionals have been working recently, anything that can save the time and improve efficiency is welcome.

MCS says that more users are appreciating the Timesheet Mobile app that it introduced earlier this year to allow hirers to digitise shift allocation, timesheet creation and submission, and to finalise customer invoicing for actual hours worked.

Shifts can be allocated in advance and pushed out to the operator’s devices to accept. Being digital, details can still be amended or edited, even at the last minute, without having to rely on back-and-forth emailing to confirm changes.

Assistant marketing manager Megan Young tells me that operators can complete timesheets from their phones or hand-held devices rather than using printed forms. They can then digitally sign them or send them to a team leader so they can be passed to the customer for electronic signature before invoicing, which can be more accurate than handwritten paperwork.

“In cases where many different people and departments are involved, the app can really speed up the whole approval process, and on sites with multiple operatives it can all be handled by one person centrally,” she says.
