Frank Key additions

Reflecting ongoing demand for its services, Frank Key Tool Hire has taken delivery of three Altrad Belle 1-tonne hi-tip dumpers for its hire fleet.

Hire general manager Craig Wheldale tells me that the four-wheel drive machines will be based at Frank Key’s plant hubs in Halifax and Nottingham which serve the company’s 14 hire outlets throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire and the East Midlands.

“Our builders’ merchant locations were kept busy throughout the pandemic as people improved their homes and gardens, and that has continued. This creates demand for our hire depots and vice versa across the whole customer spectrum,” he says.

Frank Key’s plant offering includes micro and mini excavators, dumpers and tracked barrows, and more machines are being added to meet demand. This might also lead to new specialist delivery vehicles being introduced.

“The build quality of the DX1000HTs is excellent and they have some impressive deign features,” says Craig, “such as an indicator under the bonnet that shows if the machine has been tipped over. Also, the hour meter is mounted away from the dashboard to avoid damage.”

Other recent fleet additions include Bumpa hoists and Shifta conveyors from Mace Industries, and plate compactors and mixers from Altrad Belle.

Expect more Frank Key developments in the new year.
